Botanello started with a fridge full of cartons and a view of the ocean we couldn't stop looking at. We were living the Gold Coast life: early surfs, long breakfasts on the deck, salt in our hair. But our kitchen didn't match the lifestyle. Every plant milk on the shelf came wrapped in packaging we'd have to bin, padded out with oils and gums we didn't recognise, and priced like it was doing us a favour.

So we did what any stubborn, sun-affected Australian would do: we built our own. The Plant-Perfect Vegan Milk Maker is the machine we wished existed: something as simple as pressing a button, that turns almonds, oats, soy or coconut into silky, fresh milk in minutes, with nothing but whole ingredients and water. No pre-soaking marathon. No straining bags stuck to the sink. No fridge full of cartons you'll throw half of out anyway.
